About Poole

The old town of Poole is steeped in history, possessing a fascinating and unspoiled quayside which has a rich mixture of commercial shipping, alongside fishing, yachting and power boating.

The town has a modern shopping centre, an arts centre and provides a home for the world famous Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Sporting facilities abound with the area being home to a variety of superb golf courses. Across the harbour from Moriconium Quay lie gold Point and Arne bird sanctuary. To the west are the Purbeck hills of Dorset with their numerous charming villages and National Heritage coastline. To the east there is the added attraction of the New Forest and beyond lies the bustling commercial City of Southampton.

Dorset, Thomas Hardy country, is renowned as one of the most beautiful counties in England with a wide range of scenic and historic attractions. Golden sandy beaches abound in an area rich in varying and spectacular scenery.
